IQAC
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is a mechanism established by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to ensure continuous improvement in the overall performance of higher education institutions in India. It serves as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure, aiming to develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvement in the institution's academic and administrative performance.
VISION
To be among one of the best institutions for engineers and technologists in imparting the quality technical education with social and ethical attitudes, technical skills and knowledge to become an epicentre for creative solutions.
MISSION
To impart quality technical education with well-established laboratories and instructions to prepare the young engineers with the knowledge of basic sciences, core values, critical thinking, information competency, effective communication skills and to compete globally in education, research and services with an attitude of entrepreneurial, ethical and social concern.
Objectives of IQAC
- Quality Enhancement: Developing a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
- Internalization of Quality Culture: Promoting measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
Functions of IQAC
- Benchmark Development: Establishing quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities.
- Learner-Centric Environment: Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education.
- Feedback Mechanism: Arranging for feedback responses from students, parents, and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
- Information Dissemination: Disseminating information on various quality parameters of higher education.
- Workshops and Seminars: Organizing inter and intra-institutional workshops and seminars on quality-related themes.
- Documentation: Documenting various programs/activities leading to quality improvement.
- Coordination: Acting as a nodal agency for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
- MIS Development: Developing and maintaining an institutional database through Management Information Systems (MIS) for maintaining/enhancing institutional quality.
- Quality Culture Development: Developing a quality culture in the institution.
- Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR): Preparing the AQAR as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC.
Composition of IQAC
As per NAAC guidelines, the IQAC should be constituted under the chairpersonship of the Head of the Institution with heads of key academic and administrative units, a few teachers, and a few distinguished educationists and representatives of the local management and stakeholders as members.
